WELCOME TO MY WRITING LIFE
BEING AN OLDER WOMAN This site is dedicated to being an older woman and to the writing that supports my life. I was born in England and came to live in Australia as a twelve-year-old. Much of my writing reflects my Anglo/Australian experience. I live on the north coast of New South Wales.
PLAYS You will find details of my plays here. All have been performed either by amateur theatre or as professional productions. They are designed for ease of staging and most are ideal for entry into festivals.
PUBLICATIONS Also included are details of the histories I have written, all of which have been published. Most importantly, details of my DIY life stories manual (Life Stories at Camp Creative) are included. Please refer to 'Publications' page. This work shows the way to write life stories that are engrossing and that everyone will want to read.
WEB WORKSHOPS On my 'Workshops' page you will find on-line writing workshops that are there for your personal use and they will be added to from time to time. I ask you not to copy them for others, but if you think that someone could benefit from them, please direct them to my site.
SHARING THE WRITERS JOURNEY One of the greatest joys of my life as an older woman is empowering writers who are beginning the writer's journey. Please travel with me through my words.

Launching my DIY life stories manual

This is my book 'Life Stories at Camp Creative' being launched in 2011 by Peter Nance  (Chair of Camp Creative).  I have been teaching life stories at Camp Creative for several years. During that time my notes have grown to text book length and so the idea of a book was born. It incorporates students' stories plus a history of dairying on the north coast of NSW, and the history's title is 'DMK Dairying' (Dad,Mum & the Kids)The history demonstrates how to apply the book's teachings to any researched local history.
I am very proud of this book, which is more than a DIY manual for writing auto/biography or histories. It is a celebration of being human. Please refer to the page 'Other Publications' for details of the book and how to order a copy. If you would like your writer's group to host a workshop based on this text book, please contact me at: carrollinerhodes@yahoo.com.au
